Tourism is one of the strongest engines of employment in countries such as Tanzania and Northern Uganda. Hotels, lodges, safari companies and guides play a central role in the lives of millions of people. Yet many young people hardly get the chance to truly develop themselves.
With the Youth Masterclass Tourism & Hospitality (YTH) we want to change that. This project gives young people aged 16 to 18 the opportunity to discover their talents, learn new skills and take their first steps into the tourism sector with confidence.
The masterclass is a practical four-month training, where students have lessons twice a week. They learn in small groups, guided by experienced teachers and professionals from the sector. Theory is immediately connected to practice: through exercises, role plays and internships in local hotels and lodges. At the end, participants receive a certificate and, most importantly, valuable experience that enables them to enter the job market right away.
The training is broad and lays the foundation for a future in tourism and hospitality. The learning journey includes the following topics:
An e-learning platform containing training material and digital assets will be made available to students during the course of the masterclass.
We focus on young people who often have fewer opportunities: 16 to 18 years old, from rural areas in Tanzania and Northern Uganda. These are students from low-income families, who are motivated and eager to learn, and who want to build their own path.

We are stronger when working together. We will work closely with local hotels, lodges and organizations. This way, students not only receive lessons, but also real-life experience in places where tourism is alive and thriving. For countries like Tanzania and Uganda, where tourism represents almost 17% of the economy, this means that young people can play a genuine role in the growth of their communities.
The business plan shows that this Youth Tourism & Hospitality Project is financially feasible, socially relevant and attractive for partners, investors and young people. With an estimated total investment of ±EUR 5,000 per 20 students, each 4-month cycle can be carried out profitably and sustainably, while promoting employment and entrepreneurship.
🌱 With this project we invest in the future of young people and in the power of tourism as a lever for development.
The Youth Masterclass Project will set up a number of strategic partnerships in Tanzania and Uganda. Endelea looks for key content providers, financial or operational support and acts as the development & implementation party of the project. Project roll out is scheduled as follows:
– Phase 1: Project Scope, Budget and Timelines (Q4 2025)
– Phase 2: Development and Training (as of Jan 2026)
– Phase 3: Implementation of Pilot Masterclass in Tanzania (as of Q2 2026)
