Why should Endelea offer an Italian course?   Italian ranks among the most studied languages in the world. But even more important: Italy is one of the most affordable countries in Europe where you can study abroad and that goes for tuition fees and living costs as well. The country offers lots of different scholarships and many African students join Italian schools and universities. The language is a barrier and a must-learn for anybody who wants to join an Italian program.

How it all began?   Sometimes opportunities arise at an unexpected moment between friends. Team member Michela Gardelli has a long experience in teaching Italian and has worked for many years on the production of teaching materials. So the journey began. Project ILA delivers an online Italian Language Academy adapted to the needs of African students. The project is intended for educational institutions, NGO’s and individuals. Modules start with basic Italian conversation, grammar and vocabulary and the program ramps up to more difficult activities. It is thought as an independent learning path, but it can also be used by teachers as in class support material.
